REMEDIAL READING | Students who struggle with reading and need help transitioning from preschool to kindergarten or kindergarten to first grade are invited to attend this summer class taught by Amy Taylor, remedial reading specialist. Special attention will be given to improving the following skills: letter recognition, short vowel sounds, reading simple sentences, sight words, mastering fluid reading, and improving handwriting & spelling. Class size will be limited in order to provide personalized instruction. Instructor: Amy Taylor
 

Time: Tuesday & Thursday, 9-12
from July 16th - August 8th.
Location: Darren Patterson Christian Academy Kindergarten Room
Cost: $80 per student

 

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN | Learn to budget, shop for, prepare, enjoy, and clean up well-balanced, healthy meals. This is an opportunity for kids to have fun in the kitchen while learning proper food handling techniques, chopping, range use, nutrition, practice following instructions, measuring, organization, shopping, problem-solving, working in a group, etc. Kids will work together to prepare food that they will eat at the end of class each day. Space will be limited to 12 students per class. Instructor: Beth Bowen
